How To Clean Your Arteries With One Simple Fruit




The future of cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment will not be found in your medicine cabinet, rather in your kitchen cupboard or in your back yard growing on a tree.

A new study published in the journal Atherosclerosis confirms that pomegranate extract may prevent and/or reverse the primary pathology associated with cardiac mortality: the progressive thickening of the coronary arteries caused by the accumulation of fatty materials known as atherosclerosis.


Pomegranate Found To Prevent Coronary Artery Disease Progression

Mice with a genetic susceptibility towards spontaneous coronary artery blockages were given pomegranate extract via their drinking water for two weeks, beginning at three weeks of age. Despite the fact that pomegranate treatment actually increased cholesterol levels associated with very low density lipoprotein-sized particles, the treatment both reduced the size of the atherosclerotic plaques in the aortic sinus (the dilated opening above the aortic valve) and reduced the proportion of coronary arteries with occlusive atherosclerotic plaques.



Remarkably, the researchers also found that pomegranate extract treatment resulted in the following beneficial effects:

~ Reduced levels of oxidative stress

~ Reduced monocytie chemotactic protein-1, a chemical messenger (chemokine) associated with inflammatory processes within the arteries.

~ Reduced lipid accumulation in the heart muscle

~ Reduced macrophage infiltration in the heart muscle

~ Reduced levels of monocyte chemotactic protein-1 and fibrosis in the myocardium

~ Reduced cardiac enlargement

~ Reduced ECG abnormalities

How can something as benign and commonplace as a fruit extract reverse so many aspects of coronary artery disease, simultaneously, as evidenced by the study above? The answer may lie in the fact that our ancestors co-evolved with certain foods (fruits in particular) for so long that a lack of adequate quantities of these foods may directly result in deteriorating organ function.

Indeed, two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling argued that vitamin C deficiency is a fundamental cause of cardiovascular disease, owing to the fact that our hominid primate ancestors once had year-round access to fruits, and as a result lost the ability to synthesize it.

   Discussion

This study adds to the already extant body of clinical research indicating that pomegranate can help unclog your arteries. For instance, back in 2004, the journal Clinical Nutrition published the results of a three year clinical trial in an Israeli population, finding that the daily consumption of pomegranate juice reversed carotid artery stenosis by up to 29% within 1 year.

Remarkably, the blockages in the control group increased 9%, indicating that pomegranate's artery unblocking effects were even greater than at first apparent.



Pomegranate's value in cardiovascular disease is quite broad, as evidenced by the following experimentally confirmed properties:


Anti-inflammatory:  Like many chronic degenerative diseases, inflammation plays a significant role in cardiovascular disease pathogenesis.

Blood-Pressure Lowering:  Pomegranate juice has natural angiotensin converting enzyme inhibiting properties, and is a nitric oxide enhancer, two well-known pathways for reducing blood pressure. Finally, pomegranate extract rich in punicalagin has been found reduce the adverse effects of perturbed stress on arterial segments exposed to disturbed flow.

Anti-Infective:  Plaque buildup in the arteries often involves secondary viral and bacterial infection, including hepatitis C and Chlamydia pneumoniae. Pomegranate has a broad range of anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

Antioxidant:  One of the ways in which blood lipids become heart disease-promoting (atherogenic) is through oxidation. LDL, for instance, may be technically 'elevated' but harmless as long as it does not readily oxidize. Pomegranate has been found to reduce the oxidative stress in the blood, as measured by serum paraoxonase levels. One study in mice found this decrease in oxidative stress was associated with 44% reduction in the size of atherosclerotic lesions.

How to Heal Cavities Naturally



The world is slowly waking up to the fact that, when you give the body what it needs, it can heal things we previously thought were impossible. A fine example of what is often deemed as an incurable health problem is dental cavities, but extensive research is now becoming more public about the true nature of tooth decay and the fact that there are proven remedies that can remedy it.

 
   The lies perpetrated about tooth decay

According to the American Dental Association, the reason we have tooth decay is as follows:


"[Tooth decay] occurs when foods containing carbohydrates (sugars and starches) such as milk, pop, raisins, cakes or candy are frequently left on the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth thrive on these foods, producing acids as a result. Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay."

There are a few problems with this theory, including:

~ Groups of indigenous people who had fermentable carbohydrates stuck on their teeth all the time

that did not brush or floss were mostly or completely free of tooth decay.

~ Bacteria do not consume processed sugar or flour because of the lack of nutrients in them.

~ Foods that bacteria like to eat, such as milk, vegetables, meat, fish and fruit, are not commonly implicated in causes of tooth decay.


So if the modern explanation of tooth decay is not accurate, what is actually the cause of tooth decay?


   What actually causes tooth decay

Tooth decay, as researched by Dr. Weston Price and other dental pioneers, boiled down to three factors:

 ~ Not enough minerals in the diet.

~ Not enough fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) in the diet.

~ Nutrients not being readily bioavailable, and your intestinal system not properly absorbing them.



The presence of phytic acid largely influences this factor.

Over a period of time, if your diet lacks vitamins and minerals from a poor diet and/or contains high levels of phytates (from grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes), the blood chemistry and the ratio of calcium and phosphorous become out of balance, which results in minerals being pulled from bones, causing tooth and bone loss.

So, the long-standing belief that sugar causes tooth decay is true, but as a result of it depleting nutrients from the body, not because bacteria eat it and produce acid that ruins your teeth.


   The food remedies that can heal cavities and tooth decay

In order to restore the ratio of calcium and phosphorus in our blood, and to enable minerals to bond to our teeth, it is not enough to just avoid eating too many sweet or processed foods. We must also eat health-building foods, containing copious amounts of minerals and vitamins that will build a glassy hard tooth structure.

Foods to focus on are:

~ Coconut oil, grass-fed organic dairy (especially butter), grass-fed meats, seafood and bone broths.

~ Organic cooked vegetables (soups with bone broth are ideal).

~ Organ and gland meats, like liver.


Limit foods that are high in phytic acid, like grains, beans, nuts and seeds, as well as limiting processed food intake full of processed flours and sugars that upset blood sugar balance.

Supplements to consider are:

~ Fermented cod liver oil - very high in fat soluble vitamins A, D and K.

~ Magnesium - required to use calcium and phosphorous effectively.

~ Gelatin - if you don't have time to make bone broth, this is a good alternative and is great for gums and digestion.


   Homemade Toothpaste

I'm not a big fan of fluoride or the chemicals in mainstream toothpastes and I wasn't about to let my daughter use them so we had to find another option. Paying big bucks for the all natural stuff wasn't my first choice so homemade toothpaste was really my only option. I did a wee bit of research and found that coconut oil was my first choice for the base.



Using coconut oil for homemade toothpaste is a no brainer. Seriously coconut oil is incredibly heart-healthy along with a myriad of other health benefits - not much bad you can say about coconut oil. Add a bit of baking soda and now you are rocking it. Some people take baking soda daily to balance their pH levels and swear by its effects. It doesn't take much research to come across tons of really good DIY recipes and below is one of the best.

Ingredients:

*  3 Tbsp coconut oil


*  3 Tbsp baking soda


*  25 drops peppermint essential oil


*  1 packet stevia


*  2 tsp vegetable glycerin (optional)

Directions:

Put the coconut oil and baking soda in a bowl and mash up with a fork until blended. Add the peppermint essential oil, stevia and optional vegetable glycerin and continue to mash and stir until you've reached toothpaste consistency. (Recipe Source: Crunchy Betty.

The rice with human genes



Human Genes Engineered Into Experimental GMO Rice Being Grown in Kansas

Unless the rice you buy is certified organic, or comes specifically from a farm that tests its rice crops for genetically modified (GM) traits, you could be eating rice tainted with actual human genes.

The only known GMO with inbred human traits in cultivation today, a GM rice product made by biotechnology company Ventria Bioscience is currently being grown on 3,200 acres in Junction City, Kansas — and possibly elsewhere — and most people have no idea about it.

Since about 2006,Ventria has been quietly cultivating rice that has been genetically modified (GM) with genes from the human liver for the purpose of taking the artificial proteins produced by this “Frankenrice” and using them in pharmaceuticals.

With approval from the U.S.Department of Agriculture (USDA),Ventria has taken one of the most widely cultivated grain crops in the world today, and essentially turned it into a catalyst for producing new drugs.

Originally, the cultivation of this GM rice, which comes in three approved varieties (http://www.aphis.usda.gov/brs/biotech_ea_permits.html), was limited to the laboratory setting. But in 2007,Ventriadecided to bring the rice outdoors.


The company initially tried to plant the crops in Missouri, but met resistance fromAnheuser-Buschand others, which threatened to boycott all rice from the state in the event that Ventria began planting its rice within state borders (http://todayyesterdayandtomorrow.wordpress.com/genetically-modified-food/heres-names/ventria-bioscience/).

So Ventria‘s GM rice eventually ended up in Kansas, where it is presumably still being grown for the purpose of manufacturing drugs on 3,200 acres in Junction City. And while this GM rice with added human traits has never been approved for human consumption, it is now being cultivated in open fields where the potential for unrestrained contamination and spread of its unwanted, dangerous GM traits is virtually a given.

“This is not a product that everyone would want to consume,” said Jane Rissler from theUnion of Concerned Scientists(UCS) to theWashington Postback in 2007. “It is unwise to produce drugs in plants outdoors.”

Though receiving tens of thousands of public comments of opposition, many rightly concerned about the spread of GM traits, the USDA approved open cultivation of Ventria‘s GM rice anyway. This, of course, occurred after the U.S.Food and Drug Administration(FDA) had refused approval for Ventria‘s GM rice back in 2003 (http://www.kansasruralcenter.org/publications/PharmaRice.pdf).

Besides the threat of contamination and wild spread,Ventria‘s GM rice, which is purportedly being grown to help third-world children overcome chronic diarrhea, may conversely cause other chronic diseases.

“These genetically engineered drugs could exacerbate certain infections, or cause dangerous allergic or immune system reactions,” said Bill Freese, Science Policy Analyst at the Center for Food Safety(CFS), who published a report back in 2007 about the dangers ofVentria‘s GM rice.


Once again, I must question the motives of a regulatory agency that would actually allow such crops to be planted in open fields in the first place!


According to Ventria, the rice has been genetically modified to produce proteins found in human breast milk, saliva and tears. Genetically engineered rice lines producing recombinant human lactoferrinlysozome or serum albumin found exclusively within its seeds.

Ventria’s genetically engineered rice would allow the ‘cheap’ production of immune proteins for a pharmaceutical product to lessen the severity and duration of diarrhea in infants and children.

It is even seeking FDA approval to add the protein to foods, such as yogurt and granola.

Rodents are traditionally used for important experiments, as they are morphology and biochemistry resembling to humans.

Leading expert at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute, Doctor of Biology Irina Yermakova, conducted an experiment on rats, and rat babies.

he rats conduct seriously changed. They became nervous, anxious and even aggressive when fed the Genetically Modified Ingredients. The researcher also discovered abnormal pathologic changes in the liver and testicles of the rats.

The descendants of the experimental rats fed with GM Ingredients also revealed serious matter. These alien components turned out to be lethal for the little rats.

When generally all rats of one litter survive, over 55 percent of experimental rats’ babies were born dead or died soon after they came to the world. Their death was agonizing, their intestines swollen.

Other new-born rats had very poor health. At the same time, mothers did not actively reveal their motherly instinct.

Similar experiments were conducted on other animals and fixed approximately the same results.

Do we really want to give this to our children, our infants, as Medicine?
